Dikkie Dik When I had gone on a walk with the dogs on August 21st, 2007, I heard crying nearby, I found where about it was coming from but I couldn't get there from where I was, so I went back home with the dogs, left them there, got our transport box for our cat and a few towels and went back out and into another field from where I had heard the sound. After I had waded myself through the bushes and plants towards where I had heard the sound, I couldn't find the kittens as they were not screaming anymore, I kept looking and about 5 minutes later I had found them. I saw 2 small bundles of fur huddled up together. When I picked them up they were both very weak, one still able to hold himself up but not much reaction apart from that, the other had almost no life left in her. I took them both back through the field and we went straight to the vet. She reckoned they were about 3 to 4 weeks old. The weakest had to be put to sleep but the other could still be saved. He was dehydrated and his body temperature was only 33 ˚C. We took him back home along with kittenmilk to feed him. He got very fanatical when we first fed him and became a lot more lively from then on. Dikkie Dik is doing very well now, he is growing well and getting naugtier by the day! He is not at all impressed by the dogs, and likes to play with their hair. He is also getting along well with our other cat Pebbles, they play a lot together only sometimes Pebbles plays a bit too rough for Dikkie Dik but that will change soon as Dikkie Dik is growing stronger and bigger!
